Martin is one SE1 Media’s Associate Consultants. He is a key expert for new approaches in digital with regards to content and his expertise ranges from content, storytelling to service design. Martin Schobert is founder of Tourismusdesign, and comes with more then 15 years experience in destination marketing. Martin, previously Head of R&D at the Austrian National Tourism Organisation, has worked on a wide range of fascinating tourism initiatives and given workshops and keynotes.
His fields of expertise include: product development and design of brand experiences of destinations, attractions, sceneries, leisure parks and cable car companies; optimising the “customer journey” of travellers by customer centred service design; coaching in (digital) communications (online brand management, corporate wording, storytelling, content strategy, online-PR, user enhanced content, relaunches, “on the road”).
Martin has worked with a range of clients in the tourism industry including: the Estonian National Tourist Board, the Slovenian National Tourist Board, destination management companies Gastein, Wörthersee, Donau NÖ, Weinviertel, Mostviertel, Hermagor, Katschberg, Dachstein West and Hinterstoder, regional tourist boards Tyrol, SalzburgerLand, Vorarlberg, Upper and Lower Austria and Brandenburg Tourism, attractions Ski Amade, Pferdereich – Horsebackriding, Salzburger Almenweg, Energypark Bruck and Naturpark Jauerling.
Aside from his consulting work, Martin is also lecturing in Social Media and Experience Design at the new master’s program Hospitality & Tourism Management at the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna. He also lectures in Innovation, Destination and Product Development at the University of Applied Sciences in Salzburg and has given guest lectures at IMC University of Applied Sciences of Krems and Modul University in Vienna.
From 1998 to 2010 Martin worked at the Head Office and the Paris Office of the Austrian National Tourist Office (ANTO). As a member of the management board (2007-2009) he acted as “Head of Research & Development” and led the teams “Internet Strategy”, “Tourism & Market-Research”, “Business Intelligence” and “IT Service & Support”. At his final position at ANTO as Head of Internet Strategy he reported directly to the CEO.
A graduate in Business Economics at Vienna University of Economics & Business Administration, Martin likes to share his knowledge as a speaker at international conferences such the Digital Tourism Think Tank, ITB Berlin, Phocus Wright, ENTER, the ETC eBusiness Academy, EyeForTravel as well as speaking at expert-panels at ITB, US Travelcom, Brennpunkt eTourism Austria / Germany and motivation day Slovenia along side many other speaking engagements.
